2020 Hebrew Holy Days

Passover 2017!

The Spring Holy Days are almost here!

Passover begins 4/9/2017 at even.

Leviticus 23:5-6  In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD’S passover.

1 Corinthians 11:23 -26 … That the Lord Yahshua  [Jesus] the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.  After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.

It is followed by the

Feast of Unleavened Bread Day 1 on 4/10/2017, the

Feast of First Fruits on 4/11/2017 and the

Feast of Unleavened Bread Day 7 on 4/16/2017.

During this upcoming week the week of Unleavened Bread, we must not have any leavening in our dwellings.  We must also eat unleavened bread each day of the week of Unleavened Bread.

Exodus 12:15-17  Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.  And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; ….  And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; … observe this day in your generations by an ordinance for ever.

Happy New Year !

The New Year begins tonight at even.  YHWH designated the beginning of the year to begin in the month ABIB, in the springtime.  The first set of Holy Days also begin in Abib: Passover, Unleavened Bread and the Feast of First Fruits.

The following will be the dates that are to be observed as the Holy Days in the Gregorian calendar year 2016. The bible dictates that we keep these days in their season upon their days. Therefore, we should govern ourselves accordingly by ensuring that we make arrangements with our employers to have the days marked as Sabbaths off as commanded by the Laws of YHWH (Leviticus Ch: 23). The Holy Days will begin at evening (after sundown) on the dates listed and continue through the next day and end at evening. Again, for Holy Days which are Sabbaths that begin at sundown, we need to take the next day off from work.

We must govern ourselves accordingly for all the days listed as Sabbaths below.

Upcoming Holy Days of Unleavened Bread and First Fruits

Feast of Unleavened Bread came the day after Passover and for seven days, no leaven could be eaten or found in any of the Israelite houses [Lev. 23:6-8; I Cor. 11:23-26; 5:6-8; 2 Cor. 7:1; Gal. 5:7-9].  The leaven symbolized sin which one was to be purged from during this feast [I Cor. 5:6-8].  The first and seventh day are Sabbaths, meaning no work is to be done.  In the New Testament, the Messiah laid in the tomb during this feast of the Jews.  It was this Sabbath which happened to fall on a regular weekly Sabbath, that after preparing spices to anoint His body, Mary and the other women rested and waited until the next morning to go to prepare the body [Lk. 23:50-56].

Feast of First Fruits is celebrated on the 16th day of Abib (1st Hebrew month).  On this day Jews were commanded to bring the first fruits of all their increase unto YHWH [Lev. 23:9-14].  In the New Testament, according to the Law, the Messiah became the “First Fruit” among many bretheren that  would be resurrected or quickened to become the Sons of YHWH [I Cor. 15:23; I Thes. 4:13-18].  When Mary and the women who were with her returned to the sepulcher, instead of the body of Yahshua, [the Messiah] they found an angel who informed them that He had risen from the dead! [Lk. 24:1-8].
