What is Valentine’s Day really about? To put it simply, Valentine’s Day is Vile. This pagan holiday is part of the over month long “Carnival” festival that ends with the infamously lewd Mardi Gras. Valentine’s Day is all about fertility rites and the worship and offering of gifts to the mythological god(s) Lupercus/Faunus/Pan (depending on the ruling empire – Rome/Greece/etc).
Considering the focus on the exhibition of “sexual freedom” that this holiday and the connected Mardi Gras/Carnival celebration holds and Valentines’s Day’s heavy promotion towards school-aged children, it makes this holiday even more lewd.
The knowledge of the origins of these pagan practices reminds us of the Law, beginning with Commandment number One: Have No other gods.
Love is not Valentines, love is keeping God’s Law.
Romans 13:10 “…therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.”
Psalms 14:4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.
