Feast of Tabernacles

Feast of Tabernacles also called the Feasts of Booths

The celebration of this great feast was a joyous time for the Israelites, a time of giving glory to God (Lev 23:33-44).  It was the longest feast of the Hebrew sacred Calendar, lasting eight days.  The first and the eighth day were Sabbath days (Lev 23:39).  It is symbolic of the Tabernacle of witness built by the Israelites in the wilderness under the leadership of Moses and the Tabernacle built by Solomon, rebuilt by Zerubabel and in the near future, by God Himself!  The Feast of Tabernacles has a prophetic meaning relating to the kingdom on earth after the re-gathering and restoration of the tribes of Israel.  At that time, the feast will again become memorial, not for Israel alone, but for all nations (Zech. 14:16-21).
