The Upcoming Passover Holy Day

Passover was instituted the evening preceding the exodus from Egypt.  On the 14th day of Abib (1st Hebrew month), all of the first born of Egypt were killed, but no harm came to any of the houses of Israel, their homes were passed over.  It was thereafter decreed to be celebrated annually, at this set time [Exo. 12:17-20; 24-27].  At  Passover, a lamb without blemish had to be sacrificed and eaten with bitter herbs.  In the New Testament, the Messiah, Yahshua (Christ), died on Passover in 33 AD, replacing the sacrifice of the unblemished lamb at the last Passover meal with his disciples, the Messiah instituted the symbolic eating and drinking of his body and blood (unleavened bread and wine) instead of the lamb and bitter herbs [Mt.26:26-28; Mk. 14:17-21; Lk. 22:14-20, 24-30].  He did not abolish this feast as we are told by religion.  The Messiah himself said, “as often as you will, do it (Passover) in memory of me” [I Cor. 11:23-26].  The disciples knew he meant that as many times as they would keep the Passover from then on, they should keep in the memory of his death.  The practice of a monthly communion is totally against the commandment of YHWH who said the feast of the Passover must be kept only on the 14th day of the 1st month, Abib, FOREVER! [Exo. 12:14]
